Building a faceless YouTube channel with ElevenLabs and Descript

The full pipeline from script to upload, including the parts that take longer than the tutorials admit.

Tools mentioned in this video

8.8/10

ElevenLabs

The most natural text-to-speech on the market by most accounts. Credits run out faster than the pricing page suggests.

8.1/10

Descript

The fastest route to a cut talking-head or narrated video, by most accounts. Heavy projects still make it wheeze.

8.7/10

Claude

Consistently rated the strongest drafter and editor among the chat assistants, with usage limits on Pro that users complain about most.

What the video covers

This is the pipeline that faceless-channel operators most commonly describe: the script drafted in Claude, read by an ElevenLabs voice, assembled in Descript. Operators who track their time typically report around 90 minutes per eight-minute video once templates are set up, and closer to three hours before that.

The part most tutorials skip is the edit. AI voice on top of stock footage is no longer enough to get recommended. On-screen text and clips cut under four seconds are the two editing changes channel owners credit most often for improving early retention.

Costs for the stack shown: ElevenLabs Creator, Descript Creator, Claude Pro. Roughly $60 a month at current pricing. The free tiers are enough to start, but ElevenLabs' free tier is non-commercial and its quota runs out fast.
