KDP Trim Sizes: every paperback size with page limits
KDP offers 16 paperback trim sizes on Amazon.com and its European, Canadian and Australian stores, and 12 on Amazon.co.jp. The most common is 6" x 9" (152.4 x 228.6 mm). Page counts run from 24 to 828 on white paper, lower on cream and on the largest trims. Every size, limit and margin rule is below as plain text.

Bleed and margin rules
From Set Trim Size, Bleed, and Margins. The inside (gutter) margin grows with page count so text clears the binding. Bleed is 0.125" (3.2 mm) on every edge where content runs to the edge.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the most common KDP trim size?
- 6 x 9 inches (152.4 x 228.6 mm). It is the default in KDP's setup flow and the usual choice for nonfiction, business and most trade paperbacks.
- What is the smallest and largest KDP paperback size?
- On Amazon.com marketplaces the smallest is 5 x 8 inches and the largest is 8.5 x 11 inches, with 8.27 x 11.69 (A4) also available. Amazon.co.jp adds Japanese formats down to 4.06 x 7.17 inches.
- What counts as a large trim size on KDP?
- Anything more than 6.12 inches (155.5 mm) wide or more than 9 inches (228.6 mm) tall. Large trims cost more per page to print; 6.14 x 9.21 is large, 6 x 9 is not.
- How many pages can a KDP paperback have?
- Between 24 and 828 pages on white paper for most trims. Cream paper is thicker, so the maximum drops to 776, and some large trims are capped lower. Standard color runs from 72 to 600 pages. The tables on this page list every limit.
